My 1st morning of 2012...

Happy New Years....no stitching today, but I did
accomplish a couple things this morning...I poured
myself my fav brew this morning Green Mountain coffee
Nantucket.. Cuddled in on my window seat
this very cold morning and PINNED a few pink things Ü
( My favourite new cup goes well with my gifted cotton pink
blanket from my girls)

We have a bit of snow, not much, certainly not what we are used too
and I miss it terribly....

Oh Sumatra my Ragdoll feline, loves to join
me, where ever I am, she is underfoot
or in this case this morning, sharing my bench with me...
She loves the smell of coffee, hence her name
Sumatra...I always wanted a cat that matched my kitchen
and looked like coffee....lol

Love red and white as much as I love PINK...
These gorgeous flowers came way by a dear
friend on Christmas Eve... She knows me sew well....

Lighting was good this morning, sew I took
a couple more shots...

Sew fresh and clean ....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Hyacinth. on my window sill...
Tradition around here on New Years Eve is to always
get a few bulbs of Hyacinth and planted them in my new
CUPS...giant ones at that...I added my cups to compare....
These were from my children, who obviously know I am
over the top obsessed with anything coffee related...
Both these cups and saucers were found in their travels...

I will keep taking photos of them in their progression..
We are not sure of their colors yet, sew that will be a surprise....\

Sew my dears, I have a kitchen that is beckoning me to get
some french onion soup on, another New Years Tradition for us..
The day will be spent cuddling with my honey
and watching some old movies...

( no photos of them lol)

My best as always..
YOU are KIND, Smart and Important to me..

To a colorful NEW YEAR...

Enjoy your special day! It's a perfect day for cuddling...umm, I think you'll have to start a red and white cuddle quilt, though,it would be perfect for your kitchen! Maybe you can start it tomorrow! Chuckle!

Samm as usual you have treated us to some amazing photography. I love the view of the snow, especially with the cups of hyacinths...a promise of spring. It's a beautiful day here, sunny and cool, and I'm spending it doing small tasks that keep me fairly still (have a cold so I'm babying me). I've cooked a traditional New Year's lunch which we will have in a few minutes. I hope your new year is filled with joy! blessings, marlene

Sounds like a very glorious day ... and very similar to my own. Trade out the French Onion for Split Pea and I think we're having the same lovely first day of the year. I hope 2012 is full of wonderful things for you! (Oh yes, and your cat is beautiful!) :)

Ever since I was a little girl I have always wanted a window seat. What a marvelous way to start the day. and Sumatra! I have missed seeing her!! Such a sweetie pie, I am sure Tea-Cup was also close by. Love the large coffee cups! They are such fun, great idea to use as planters. We also get Hyacinths. I look forward to seeing your bloom. And by the way, love the blankie from your children! Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
There has been a lot of coffee, and a little bit of sewing going on here. Just enjoying a lazy Sunday, before it's back to business tomorrow. Me and Hubby back to work, and the kids back to school.
Hope you'll have a great and creative new year, with lots of special moments.
BTW.. That pink mug is just sooo darn cute! Wish they had something similar in shops over here!
Hugs

What a fab idea to plant a bulb in a big mug to wait for spring. I must remember that for next year! (First I have to find me a big mug! LOL)

Happy New Year Madame Samm!

I noticed the additions of pink that you pinned. Lovely!
What really struck me this morning is your cat. We have a ragdoll mitted as well - name of Mocha - as she managed to slurp my coffee the day we brought her home. She is our little sweetie.

All the Best to you!
