Day 7 - A reminder to never take myself too seriously....

This is what is on my desktop on my IMAC...
Ellie and Carl Fredrikson
( animated characters from PIXAR's "UP")

It is a reminder to ME, to never take ME too seriously..
I know no coffee cup to be seen....lol what a shocker...
OHHHH I thought about it...but when I saw this animated
film back in 2009, it never has left me....I went seeking for
a great shot and this is the one that had me UPlifted sew to speak.

My husband and I have this kind of relationship....Spirited,
Fun, Laughter with a reminder that each day is an adventure...
We try to never forget that...always look UP....

SEW there you have it...if you have not seen UP,
do yourself a favor and watch it....YOU too may value
the simple things life has to offer...I always DO! ( now)

Storyline....A young Carl Fredrickson meets a young adventure spirited girl named Ellie. They both dream of going to a Lost Land in South America. 70 years later, Ellie has died. Carl remembers the promise he made to her. Then, when he inadvertently hits a construction worker, he is forced to go to a retirement home. But before they can take him, he and his house fly away. However he has a stowaway aboard. An 8 year old boy named Russell, who's trying to get an Assisting the Elderly badge. Together, they embark on an adventure, where they encounter talking dogs, an evil villain and a rare bird named Kevin.

Here are some facts I thought  were  pretty admirable...Their budget for this animation was 175 million. From the release to November 2011 Box office has grossed 731.341,00 Million in $$$
For an ANIMATION...wow!....Maybe I will be doing some animation in my near future lol.

And  now an update on my  HYACINTHS...remember last week I planted them...well look what a bit of sunshine and 7 days can do.....

UPDATE 2 days after showing these pics..
LOOK...PINK and WHITE...

they needed a bit of sun kisses..!

Who thinks they will be opened this week?
More pics next week..

And I did manage to get a block done for a WONKY HOUSE
Swap Jane is managing... NOW I must confess, I am not
much of a wonky person...It is a challenge for me...
This was my first attempt...
I got it all wrong...

Hard to tell what it was...I was trying to color co-ordinate
it all and make it soft....NAH scratch that one....

Then after seeing the CUP bookcase...Jane
said "YOU need to do your own thing"
Well coffee is MY thing...sew I did a coffee house....

It's a bit wonky..but still not bright enough...
Sew I will be working on a couple more tomorrow...
Will have to really  dig for wonky color fabrics...
As stated..I am not much of a WONKY lady lol
( ok, no comments there )

Sew there you have it...with a bit less pressure
from the OTHER BLOG...lol
I actually had a moment or two to do something
on my blog....

Ok, off to the kitchen to create some fancy dish
for supper...

Madame Samm I love the coffee cup house! Too bad I am not in your group! I almost have my drawing figured out for my house too, then I will hit it with fabric. My husband reminded me that I should do something that reflects where we are from, I am so excited about this block swap!! And I think I was balling about 15 minutes into the movie "UP" at the theater and its on my list to buy this next year! You enjoy your house making!

Oh your hyacinths are going to be so beautiful and fragrant ... such a lovely breath of spring in the middle of winter!! :)

The coffee cup house is imaginative, fun, and stinkin' adorable!! Not that we expected anything less from YOU! I would be willing to bet that a wonky unconventional house swap is somewhere in the future. Think of all the places we could fashion a house--coffee cups, tea pots, old shoes, planters...

p.s. love the background music--so springy and calming!

Up is the sweetest movie... I watched it on tv and missed the beginning. I fell for the little boy's sincere pure personality immediately. Then, I caught a showing from the beginning. The progression to music of his relationship with his wife can bring tears my eyes. Certainly worth watching a few times...

The wonky blocks are cool. I want to try some myself with the Seuss storybook fabric. :)

Taking you from the sweet, soft, pink type into the vibrant, loud, wonky type will be no simple feat...but we know your desire to wonk out at least a dozen wonky house blocks will win over in the end. lol I am always amazed at how fast those bulb flowers grow. they are so fun to watch!

I dearly love the movie UP. There is a children's movie in there too, but the love story is so sweet and somewhat sad too. I am sure most kids didn't get that.

I think UP was one of the very best!
As a couple of old codgers, there is still every once in a great while a sweet tender moment. Makes you smile and sigh! Enjoy your classes and we will all be here appreciating your taking care of your followers who care dearly for your spunk and your ambitions. Enjoy!

It looks like you have found YOU again. I have missed that Samm, you have been so busy with what you call that other blog; it always brings a giggle. I am happy to see some of you again. You are very creative, funny and downright entertaining. I think you can do just about anything you put your mind to. Pixar would be thrilled to have your mind in a think tank for a day. I love that you see life a little different then most. You are such a kid, possibly the one thing I love about you most. See you in a couple of weeks for coffee. You promised remember xx Always Claudette

I love your wonky coffee house! Great to do something that's you, instead of what "everybody" is doing. And your hyacinths? They will give your room a great smell! Don't know when though!;-)

Madame Java (LOL) opps, Samm-
You truly percolate! Thank you for sharing fun and loveliness.

Absolutely! You always need to do your own thing. Part of the joy of quilting is taking someone else's idea and making it our own.

Love the movie UP and the message it brings! It is probably my favrite animated movie.
Hope my hyacinths do as well as yours. This my first time growing them as I got them as a gift. I don't have the 'greenest thumb.'

Coffee cup house is awesome. I love how that came out. I do love that shelf you got by the way. It most perfect for a java loving lady like yourself.

Good Luck on your studies. Are you still going to do that bloghop in February using the hangers or have you scrapped that idea due to school?

I cried just about the whole time while watching UP. It was such a sad movie, but I loved it.

Glad to see with a little less time over at that other blog that you have a little more time for sewing!

My BF told me about this movie last week. Forget soft, go with the hard lines of the java. Lovely! My kind of house.

I too have a big problem with wonky. I need everything to be equal and straight with points too.
