SEW tackling wonky and multiple colors
was such a stretch ...
I even had to call for help..
YES, can you believe it..???
With all the fabric that came and went
out these past few months, I did not have
anything that was that colorful...
in wonky style anyway....
Here is my progression....and this was my first
attempt...this one went into my scrap pile...
attempt...this one went into my scrap pile...
nothing wonky about this.......
Well it is hard to tell what it was...I was sew happy
with my sketch.....
this one.....
Then Jane said " do you " or something like
that...and I thought I love coffee, sew let's do coffee
cup stacks....
SEW I poured myself into that.....lol
SEW there you have it...Day 24, weekends I cut
and stitch and in the mail these will go tomorrow
and now I can get back to my homework..
I can take it a bit easy today, my tutor
was not expecting me to go sew quickly...lol
with my sketch.....
not this one......lol

I love your wonky houses. The best part is they are a reflection of you. Little coffee houses. Fabulous!!!
These blocks are so fun... and sew much YOU! I love blocks that let the quilter's personality show through. The colors, shapes, and designs are terrific. Great job! :)
I sew everything wonky, whether I supposed to or not! LOL! Enjoy your 'free' time today! :)
Your wonky houses are so cute. Very happy looking.
OH, your swap partners are gong to be thrilled! Maybe we can get a closer look at a block or two? or twelve?
I too tried to "draw" a wonky house first - mine did not work well either. BUT your cup houses are adorable. My MIW loves cups (she doesn't SEW) - I am sharing this post with her - she will love it

You did it! You did it! And not a drop of coffee was spilt in the stacking of these cups!
If a photo of these wonky houses showed up unidentified, I would have said YOU immediately!! They are so fabulously Madame Samm!
Great houses, I should just but a picture of my house in because it is as wonky as anything. Great colors.
Cute! LOVE your graphics! Glad you finally accomplished wonky. I think you have to be a bit wonky to do wonky well..........now you know why I love it so!

Was it Patti that said I would recognize your style anywhere? Yes I could too, even though I know you don't like wonky. And when were these suppose to be ready for, I bet weeks away, right? Great job Samm.
Your swap partner will be glad with you beautiful wonky house.
I love your wonky coffee cup houses. They're so cute!
I hate to sound like the proverbial "broken record" but those houses are so cute...and so appropriate, coming from you. :) Know what I just thought of? There are a bunch of people nowadays that probably can't figure that phrase out...they've never seen an LP record! LOL I guess I'm dating myself to say that I still have my collection from my teen years!
Anyway, the blocks are indeed wonderful, and your graphics are super. You continue to amaze us, Madame!
I agree that it is hard to be wonky if you are a organized, symmetrical type of girl.:D That's what I tend to be also and it is a push to do wonky and/or scrappy. I do like how you made it your own with the coffee cup houses! Sew cute!
Beautiful coffee houses, your group-mates are very fortunate. They look so great together! I put mine in the mail today, a month earlier than I thought I would.
I love the Wonky cups. They are so you!
My sweet friend you are such a perfectionist and so precise and graphic that I can understand how hard it is to be wonky because I have that problem to. But i do love your coffee cups and as others have said they are so you. Just have fun. Blessings
The coffee cup houses are sew clever. If I got those in a wonky house swap I would be SEW Happy.
I love these blocks! They came out awesome and look so fun. It looks like you were definitely challenged to come out of your sewing comfort zone. Well Done Madame Samm. :)
Jen
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! They scream you too, so you put some of your personality into them. When I look at the coffee mugs, I think of you right away. That makes them perfect. Whoever gets them in the swap will be very happy.
I have still not tried paper piecing yet, although, you are getting me a whole lot closer to trying. How did you manage to get those little mug handles to look so amazing? That part looks REALLY hard.
I had my oldest daughter to the doctor yesterday and now she is scheduled for surgery on February 22. She is really scared. She never had surgery before. She needs her tonsils and adenoids taken out. I just hope this works to keep her from constantly being sick. She hasn't had more than 2 weeks without an infection since September. I have been helping out those people in the pharmaceutical companies with a fair share of business lately.
You are an inspiration to us all..
such awesome cup houses and amazing graphics. I love readng your posts. Thanks for sharing with all of us.
I have been seeing these wonky houses everywhere, as always, I love your graphics....
Your staggering stacks of coffee cups would make up into a fun quilt! I think you graduate wonky school with flying colors! What a ride that was, eh?! Who'd of thought wonky could be even the least bit difficult!
Too cute! Love it! I need to embrace wonkiness... my problem is that when I try to get wonky, it still looks planned (planned wonkiness, not the impromptu kind I like).
yay for you!!!!!
Oh, it must be hard to be wonky, when you are so straight, LOL!
Just had some time to get caught up on all you've been doing!! Whew! I love your wonky house - love your wonky cups - love your potted flowers!! Happy January 26th! xo, Nan
I think you did a fabulous job Samm! I too have trouble with using lots of different colors. Indeed the most important thing was that you played and had fun!
