91 Your COMMENTS here, uplift me.:
what makes me go AUGH! When I'm sewing along, thinking things are going great,,,only to realize I ran out of bobbin thread about 300 stitches ago! what turns it around? Realizing I would have caught a wrinkle in my seam if I hadn't! LOL
When I've stitched 2 1/2 miles of strips, only to find I ran out of bobbin thread after 1/4 mile. Augh! Great giveaway, love Amy Bradley's humor :-)
Two things make me to AUGH when I am quilting. One, when the thread keeps breaking and two, when I have too much top and not enough bottom left--poor measuring skills!
PS I love Amy's designs!
Standing on the scales this morning made me go Augh! :( It's back to thee diet Monday morning for me. I think God should make skinny as a perk for getting old! blessings, marlene
It makes me laugh that we relate Augh! to our sewing mistakes!! I ran out of fabric to make straps for a new tote, but compromised, pieced, flipped and it worked out!
Thanks for a wonderful giveaway.
When quilting, it is those moments when I suddenly discover I made a cutting error with the fabric, and it is usually a REALLY horrible mistake. Like cutting 200 squares at 4 1/4 instead of 4 1/2! Bobbins running out are frustrating, but you can always wind another bobbin.
My augg is when my last bobbin runs out and my back ups are empty and I only have a few more inches to sew!
When I try Free Motion Quilting, and think it is looking fab.. only to look at the back and see.. a big old birds nest has been built on the back.. OOPS. I realize, I am learning.. and this is a lesson learned.. Time to go read, and learn from this.. and mark it as a lesson, and move forward.. not pull out hair and get more frustrated. Move FORWARD..live, laugh, learn.
Oh Samm in lieu of what has happened, you have every right to go AUGH. YOU really now how to turn lemons into lemonade and give your readers something to laugh about time and time again. I went AUGH the other day too lol Love to win this. Luv Liz
Morning, Samm. Life has slowed down and I found your home. And here you are meeting life with your usual resourcefulness. So, Good Morning! and if it is goodmorning, then slap a more cheerful mug on one of those super cute mug rugs that I want to make and try again!!! It always pays to look at things hopefully.
What makes me go AUGHHHH!!! Wednesday I finally had enough time to make a table runner with my twister ruler. At first my tension went wacky, then my iron dripped allover and died! AUGHHHH!!!! was nicer then what I was thinking. I finally worked it out and it looks beautiful. ;-> Toni Anne
What makes me go AUGH is having to use a seam ripper too many times! Like last night...I was piecing a block together and had to rip out the stitching on the corner 3 times because it just wasn't fitting properly...the third time worked...it was worth the effort. If I was the winner of this beautiful rendition of AUGH, (it is so cute, Madame Samm!), it would go right on the wall behind the sewing machine, so that when I am ready to scream, AUGH, instead I would smile!
At last I had some time to sew - got my pattern out, found my fabric and cut it out (things were looking good!!) went to get some vilene and wasted the next hour hunting for something I could have sworn I had plenty of!! sewing time wasted!
As a new Quilter I seem to have lots of Augh moments and I have to remind myself, I am learning. I am learning from lots and lots of wonderful ladies like yourself. So I smile and move forward. I would make a pillow with this little topper to have in my sewing room.
I think most days i make myself go AUGHHHHH. However, i found this nice quote that helps. "My mind is my garden my thoughts are my needs. I will harvest either flowers or weeds"-unknown
Love the specs on your lady there. All her patterns are fabulous!! I go AUGHHHHHHHHHH when I am sewing along chain piecing, pulling the pins and eventually realize I ran out of bobbin thread.
All of the above makes me go AUUGGGHHHH! My seam ripper is my best friend sometimes...
What a nice giveaway. Good luck to everyone!
Doing the math wrong and getting a block that isn't the right side! AUGH!!! :)
When I cant figure out what is making the stiches skip and Ive adjusted everything, switched out the needle and changed the thread!
I had a Auugh! yesterday morning. I knocked my favorite and full coffee mug off of the kitchen island. Ceramic shards and coffee was everywhere. As I was cleaning it up, I thought to myself that the kitchen floor and counters needed cleaning anyway. That made everything better.
Cleaning up after Thanksgiving! LOL No really cleaning up in general! I normally have kids at my feet and therefor I pick somethinhg up or clean an area and as soon as I turn around there is something else there replaceing it! AUUGH!! How do I turn it around...I don't clean!!! LOL
When I run out boboin thread and only realize it miles later!!!!
My last Augh moment occured last week when I set my large glass mixing bowl down on my kitchen counter on top of a pan. As I turned, life went in to slow motion and the bowl crashed to the floor. I called in the DH, asked him to clean it up for me because I was on my way out to pick up DGDs. I was already late. Darling DH did the job.
I love Amy Bradley designs. She always brings a smile to my face.
My AUGH moments are when I come home from work and my retired husbund leaves dirty dishes in the sink.....even though he would only have to reach down and put in dishwasher. - then I think, well, thank goodness you have a husbund:). Love Amy:)!!!
What makes me AUGH! Sewing my finger skin when I'm doing needleturn - tis not so good to have a block literally danging from your finger! And how do I turn it around? I turn my AUGH into a L....AUGH, cos if you can't laugh at yourself, well..... why do it :-)
Cute designs - I'd have to do one for each side of a cushion to rest behind my back whilst sewing, corresponding side up to the kind of sewing day I'm having :-)
It was a big Augh moment when my sewing machine broke down while I was trying to finish a project with a deadline. Now I have a back up machine. Cutting fabric wrong is an augh moment. I put myself in a good mood with music or gardening or perhaps a glass of wine. I was checking out Amy's website and her designs are really fun. Thanks for the giveaway.
I just love this and Amy's patterns. So cute! The thing that makes me go AGGGGHHHH is when I've stitched and stitched and stitched (as in my counted cross stitch) and realize I'm one stitch off. THAT means I have to take it all out. So that is what makes me grrrrr. But I fix it and all is well. I'd love to try for your giveaway! Thanks for the chance. :)
What makes me go AAAAUUUUGGGGHHH! is chain stitching and finding out after sewing that I ran out of bobbin 10 or 20 units ago... AUGH! for sure!...
TECHNOLOGY makes me go AUGH. I spent over 11 hours just writing a Newsletter on Mad Mimi and I thought I would loose my mind when I had finished it at 1:00 and apparently didn't hit save...and it was gone...so I had to do it again. I wanted to flip...I'm still a little keyed up about it too.
More things that make me go AUGH....having something in my hand one minute...and the next I have no idea where it is or where it went.
Taking the time to stop and eat when I'm busy...oh I better just stop now...I'm sounding ridiculous!
Giggles,
Kelly
Looked at your blog on a different computer today and there was beautiful music. Do you always have music on your blog? The other computer I usually use isn't hooked up to speakers.
Love all your sewing projects as usual but found the music so surprising as you didn't mention it anywhere. It is lovely, Thanks you!
Nice music (again). I missed it......glad it's back!
My job has made me go AUGH a lot lately. We're in the process of selling the assets and it's been a lot of jumping through hoops it seems. I'm hoping I'll soon be enjoying the ahhhh.... when it's all said and done. Sad to see it end, but happy that I've enjoyed the journey. Thanks for sharing.
I am constantly going Auggghhhh when attempting to put bias binding on. My remedy for these moments are to pack up my items add all the binding and mail it to my mother inlaw ;)
Using Jack (the ripper) too much, running out of thread with only six stitches to go, pressing the wrong side of the fusible. :-o Oh the augh's! ;-) Thanks for the giggle today. ;-)
Augh! lol. I would say black Friday shopping, but it was dead (until I got to JoAnn's, then it was busier than super-Target!). I would say when I am trying to finish a project, I measure, and measure, and when I get a row done it's not straight! somehow. I got so frustrated that I sent a note to my building and gave away the rest of my yardage of fabric because I just didn't want to see it anymore. Then I felt better...What a fun little lady you are giving away today!
I think I AUGH at all of the above, but also when I get a creative idea for a quilt and then it doesn't turn out so wonderful. Luckily, I'm used to my lack of creativity and try, try, again to get something right.
I think things that make you go AUGH would be ............. difficult people . end of story @@ sewing is a good outlet for those people @@@@
Your imperfect ( as you call it ) looks just fine to me ! Nice music ; makes the AUGH go away ! thanks !!!!
I am a beginning quilter and mistakes seem to be my norm. I realize that with persistence in making corrections, my final product will be all be worth the time and effort. (Just when will I ever get the final product?! "Are we there yet?" is a question I ask a lot!)
When I have been machine embroidering a design and I leave it and run to do something else, come back and the needle has broken and screwed up everything. Destroyed stitches did not save me any time and now I can start over. Can't be in two places at once. I'm 65, will I ever learn???
My worst Augh is usually the first thing in the morning when I wake and realize the same issue that I was fighting to forget (or forgive) is still lurking in the back of me mind when all I want to do is begin a new day with a new attitude! I love it though when time and prayer erases the culprit.(((smiles))) And....I will have to admit that my new sewing machine still has the power to cause a few of these silly noises.... I LOVE your mind gentling music Madame Samm!
Posting a comment only to have it not show up after I have poured my heart into it!! AUGH!!!!
I had an AUGHHH experience the other day when I ironed Steam-a-Seam to my ironing board cover. I still have to deal with the mess! Thank you for the AAHHHsome giveaway. I would be delighted to win.
In life, my augh! = "know it alls" that turn their nose up at quilting! I turn it around by creating a new quilt as my just because. Love the pattern....would be great to hang on the sewing room door...or the back door even...to warn those who enter in.
When my internet line goes down and it takes them 7-8 hours to get it back up. I not only can't work but I miss checking all the quilting blogs!! Thanks for the give away.
How sweet of you! What makes me crazy and is having too much STUFF out right now! Well, I just packed some of the Christmas stuff back in the boxes and put them away...for another day! heehee! Enjoy your weekend, my friend! Warm Southern hugs, Diane ♥♥♥
Hi Samm it is another beautiful day, the thing that makes me go Aughhh is when I think I know what I am doing and I really don't which is most of the time these days. Be at Peace Blessings Sandra
That is so cute! My Augh would be when I stitch a block wrong, tear apart and then stitch together WRONG again! AUGH!!
things that make me go AUGH ; not knowing if my 1st post went ( and difficult people as stated on my 1st post .... did I send it or mess it up ??? hmmmmmm ) so if I have 2 now I'm cheating !! I love love love your giveaway . and your music releases and soothes the AUGH's !!!! thanks .
I go AUGGGGHHH!!! when I realize the mailman has come and I forgot to put out a bill that has to be paid. My fix? I walk two blocks to the corner mailbox.
I was doing a 4patch for a quilt and I chained a group together then put them into the piece and after it was sewn together and had placed some the wrong way after the row was together and it was like AUGHHHHHHHHHHHHH no
Thank you for introducing me to Amy. I just got back from browsing her website and reading her blog. I LOVE her designs - what a riot!! lol I signed up for her blog and look forward to much fun.
Now...right now...what makes me go AUGH! is all that I need to get finished before our family Christmas which is only 2 - yep, that's right - 2 weeks away!! The pressure is there and though I usually just enjoy what I'm doing at the moment, every once in a while the stress builds and AUGHHHHHH! is a great way to let it all out! :)
AUGH! It's what I say when I know I saw a great tutorial SOMEWHERE in the world of blogs but can't remember which one! I turn it around by just reading other blogs knowing inspiration will come from some talented blogger out there! Love the AUGH and the smile ladies. You are a generous gal, Madame.
Augggh..is saved for total disasters...which I try to escape...so...that hands on the face gesture to me, means:
OH MY!
BUT, I do say "Oh MY" plenty of times during a day.
Such cute, cute applique patterns....and I like your music too, nice addition.
I love movie music soundtracks.
My AUGH moment is when the machine I brought to a quilt retreat,at a lodge at a lovely isolated lake in southern Manitoba, died the first day and I was over an hour away from my home! Auugh!!
Having to cook dinner makes me go Augh! Since I get hungry, too, I enter the kitchen at the last possible minute and am thankful I have a husband who cleans up.
Hi samm, What makes me go aghhhhh, someone making expresso and waking away leaving a mess. At the end of the day with my 4yo granddaughter who I love dearly but she can't stop taking and asking questions for two seconds in 10 hours, yes I go aghhhhh. Hope you had a great holiday. Thanks, kathy
What makes me go AUGH !!? is when I drag my butt out of bed on a cold morning to go to school and class has been cancelled! Thanks for the giveaway. Hope you had a great holiday.

Love your Aaaugh! Amy Bradley designs are absolutely delightful! I would love to win. I would frame yours and hang in my craft/sewing room.
Augh moments?? Starting to prepare a specific recipe and realizing your DH ate one of the ingredients without your knowledge. Gratefully we moved closer to the grocery so it's only a 2 min drive, if I can't figure out a good substitute.
Or realizing the puppy ate the paperback book I left sitting on the chair. I get past that by just playing with her and remembering I really should put things up a little higher til she grows up. Or in the sewing room my Aaagh moment is being sew excited about making something, having all the sewing go sew right and when finished realizing it didn't turn out at all the way you thought it would and you don't like the way it looks.
Thanks for the opportunity to win.It will be treasured!

What makes me go AUGH???? Hmmmmmm, maybe when I miss all this beautiful give aways or when I find a beautiful quilt, but dont have the time to sew it or when the cats keep walking over my blocks with dirty feet or......
Gun, Sweden
Usually the only time I go AUGH sewing-wise is when I know I've put something in specific place and then I can't find it. Most of my AUGHs are work-related. I work for attorneys and while I like the ones I'm assigned to, at least once a day one of them makes me go AUGH!!!! (apparently it's against office policy to slap them! ;0) )

Hmmmm this just happens to be the weekend for things that make me AUGH!! It is when you have a great design in your head and it should be fabulous but the finished product is not! Oh and to top it all off you are making it for a swap and the deadline is behind you and oh forget the details.....AUGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Sleeping on everyone else's beds as we visit over the holidays makes me go aughhh cause my back hurts!
What turns this around???
Seeing my grandson turn the corner of the living room when he wakes up and instantly a smile appears on his face and he says Hi mawmaw, I love you!
You see that look on my face when I am happily stitching away free motion quilting something only to find that the edges have rolled under and I have to pick it all out!!
Machine applique with blanket stitching and I get in a hurry - I rip it out - then I am still in a hurry and continue to make the same mistakes and the same rip out and end up having to walk away until another day. Can you guess what I did yesterday? Thanks for the opportunity. Judy C
I am loving the music - went looking to see if you had a play list and could not find it. Thanks for thinking of us. JudyCinNC
Making a paper-pieced block in the wee hours this morning I had an even bigger AAAUGHHHH!!! The fabric strip I sew in was too short...AAUUGGHH!!! I unsewed it and put in a longer piece. aaauuughh!!
Some days, yes i AUGH!!! because there is too much to do, and I would rather be quilting!! But then I find a little time or stay up until the wee hours and get my AAAH! Quilting is my happy place.
By the way, I ♥ Amy's patterns - they make me giggle! And your adorable AUGH!! girl says it all, doesn't it?
LOL Love all of these comments before me...I can definitely identify with many of them. My last AUGGHHH was yesterday when I was admiring a knitting project and counted the stitches left on the needle....AUGHHH! One fewer than it was supposed to be, to create the cool pattern! (Guess who is NOT going to rip it out, but will improvise?! LOL)
Well...mine is not the "proper" thing to say but here goes anyways: The thing that makes me go "AHHH" (right now) is going to my in-laws Christmas party. The thing that makes it better...alcohol! The party is today and right now I am procrastinating by being online instead of taking my shower...I just "love" going there!
Teenagers - definately AAUGH! Do they forget everything they ever learned and become brain dead during that time? Just how hard is it to turn on a dishwasher? Thank you for sharing they adorable designs and thank you Madame Samm for enlarging our ideas of just what quilting is. Clearly different things to different people and they are all good.
today my augg moment is trying to figure out something to cook for dinner, when we are all still stuffed from Thanksgiving! Maybe we will just hibernate! teehee xoxox Christel
Hi Samm!
I have an AGGGH moment when I forget to set my machine for a 1/4 inch seam and get going, only to discover a 5/8 inch seam, the default setting!
Then I have to rip out, resew, reiron!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Take care, Leslie
Trying to thread my size 10 quilting needles.....Karen
Today I cried, "AAUGH" as I stood on my front porch and watched my sister and her family drive out of my driveway to return home after one incredibly fun Thanksgiving week-end...knowing they won't return till next year. What made it better? Walking back inside to have 3 of my grandchildren rush to give me hugs and kisses so Grandmama wouldn't feel sad. I am Blessed. I would LOVE to win Amy's new pattern! I have 2 of her patterns on my UFO list.
Blessings
Gmama Jane
Miss Moody 2 Shoes is adorable!! The pincushion is cute too, but I believe everything these days in my life are finding a way to make me go AUGH!! Too many to list :)
What makes me AUGH is when my sewing machine dies. To turn it around going to visit Santa and ask him to bring me a new one.
Thinking that I am getting sew much sewing done and then realizing that I have run out of bobbin thread. Thanks for the great giveaway.
Such an adorable pattern! Yours made up beautifully! I am excited that I may win and hopeful I can find the pattern to purchase if I do not. Thanks.
What makes me go Aauuuuugh! is whe I have quilted on a really twisty design only to discover that I was careless when I put the bobbin in and didn't get it in quite right and have to take it all out. One hour of quilting can take many hours to take out. AAAuuuuugh! I had do do that a couple of weeks ago on heirloom quilting, 1/2"grid orange peel and small feather wreaths surrounded by microstippling. Aauugh!!
Ooooo I love this design. Yours came out awesome. I would love to have it. :)
Whats been making me go Aaaghhh lately is my boyfriend's inability to close cabinet doors and drawers. I can walk into the kitchen and know exactly which cabinets and drawers he was looking in. And he wonders why I call him my man child.
Sewing wise, what makes me go Aaagghhh is sewing something together and realizing when I'm done that I did it wrong. My seam ripper always puts me in a foul mood. If I'm having a bad day doing any craft, I just put it down and do something else
Hope you are having fun in your stitching retreat this weekend.
Jen
My Aagghh moment is when sewing HST and I realize that I placed them wrong sides together rather than right sides together. That's when trusting seam ripper becomes your best friend. Thanks for a chance to win Amy's pattern and your cute top.
Hope you're having a great time at your retreat. One of these days I'm going to treat myself to a retreat. Boy, say that fast three times. hehe. Well what made me go Arrrhhh the other morning was when I went to get my flavored creamer for my coffee, there was only like two drops left !
Why put it back in the icebox ?? Arrrhhhhh !!
Thanks for the giveaway and a chance to win. Cute patterns.
usairdoll(at)gmail(dot)com
What makes me go AUGHRRR is the fact that my illness is blocking me from being creative, when my mind is filled with fun projects! Sorry, not a fun posty, but is is happening right now! Wished it was only the flu, but it is isn't! So Aurrggg!
Oh, and second: how I turn it around? Try to think of other things, creative things, that lift my spirits! And patterns or blogs help me a lot to do this! Magazines are awesome too in those days! So basically not spent to much energy feeling sorry for myself and use some "creative therapy" in response!
AUGH! How about being so busy you don't see a giveaway like this awesome one until the day you're going to announce the winner? Yea, that's MY AUGH! Soooooooooo I just post anyway and send happy thoughts to the winner.
Other times? yea, I just drink heavily and head back to the fabric store to start over again. HAHA . (Kidding. I rarely drink)
ARRRRRGHHHH!! The flooded kitchen is finally finished!! The new floor is installed in the kitchen AND family room! The ceiling is re-done and painted! Had 28 for Thanksgiving dinner! It's ALL back in order - now to take down the BINS and BINS from the attic so I can start decorating for Christmas! But TODAY I'm off to a guild workshop to make a machine appliqued (that's the lesson!!) wall hanging! And another workshop tomorrow - sashiko!! ahhhhhh!!
Arrrgghhh - for me, is leaving a place and getting to my garage only to realize I should have visited the restroom at the other place!!
Hi! Greetings from Finland! Your quilts are so fantastic! It's so nice to find other quilters all around the world! :)
