Bock bock bock...translation "A" cuppa cozies and pattern outlined for YOU is..

We clucked a lot these past few days...and I have no idea when and where it started
but my family happens to have fallen in love with HENS. Now it could have something
to do that we live in a farm community with gazillions of  hens around. But all of a sudden
my family has become obsessed... HEN obsessed! WE always have a little sewing time
sew I asked the "girls" what they wanted to make...it is always small projects..
Well in unison..." HEN cuppa cozies"

Yeahhhhh right!... My job was to outline them and they would take
it from there...Well this was what they came up with....

I think one of them was not quite sure what a HEN looked like...lol
and they found some of my ostrich boas and cut some of those up....lol
EGADS....
I worked on Bella's quilt....completed blanket stitching all around
all the daisies..
I free handed no pattern used for this..just some swirly
daisies and vine and leaves in between the daisies...

Today I will sandwich it all and start hand quilting...
I thought I would add the buttons too in the centers to keep the
quilt from shifting? yes? lol

And I did manage to get some small projects done for our GHASTLIE blog hop
which takes place next MONDAY...yes ..oh my goodness I best get busy..lol

What on earth is this? lol
well of course I know lol

and this....?
yep know this too....

Forgot to add, we made this pillowcase
only had time for one...and one of the chics took
it with her lol

Come on back next Monday...
the Ghastlie blog hop will take place for 10 days
we have 54-55 bloggers who will be participating.
I KNOW , that is a lot of GHASTLIE ideas..
I am towards the end...the very end...lol

The little hens are so cute! I love the fact that one has it's comb a little off kilter. (None of us are perfect, right?)

Dear Samm, the hens are delightful! Hope it was a great time had by all, and the roosters stayed away..lol Yes Yes Yes on the buttons! This will be the cream of the crop so to speak..the cherry on top of a beautiful quilt of little Bella. I love the colors, and can see the swirlies..such a great added extra. Hope you have a great week..take time to rest.. otherwise, the ghastlies will be visiting you in your sleep

Love the hens and it is just wonderful that the creative mind is not your's alone.

Regarding the buttons, I think they would look wonderful but how old is the recipient? Is she old enough for buttons. I worry about those kinds of things.

The big advantage to being toward the end of the group of Ghastlies is that you have that much more time to be creative. tee, hee,

Love the hen cozy. I too have loved chickens. It all started back when I was a young child. My mom had some ceramic (rooster and hen) salt/pepper shakers. Through the years they were broken from many moves we had. But I always loved those chickens. So mom gave them to me a couple years ago. chips out, cracks all over, but I can't part with them. They sit on my stove as I write. I have since started collecting towels, timers, quilt patterns, and anything else I can afford to get to add to my kitchen chick collection. LOL Love them all, cute, comical or realistic looking. : ) not to mention the real thing. I love owning real chickens too. Fresh eggs are the best you ever tasted. : )

Love the hens. What an imagination. You must create in your sleep! Wouldn't these be popular at the local summer "Poultry Fest". Now my mind is going-Christmas tree cosies, bunny rabbit cosies, Santa cosies, kitty cosies--ok, mind is gone on a cosie trip--

Oh my goodness that hen - you must share that pattern. Maybe not the cuppa cozie but the hen - she could be enlarged and cover my toaster. :) And I'm in love with that pink check fabric; I'm coveting. Coveting is bad; I must stop. Darn! Can't wait to see your Ghastlie imagination in full force. :) blessings, marlene
