I don't know where to begin....and did I mention a giveaway ...? lol

It has been just a few hours since I made an announcement at my other managed Blog
AND already I am sew excited at some projects I will be tackling...
Thought YOU might be interested .lol..or not ...

1st on my list is these basket liners, now I don't have any
OLD quilts, since I have only made 4 in my lifetime...
( June this year is when I began quilting)
I don't think any of them are ready to be cut up for liners...lol
Sew I am going to make some NEW quilt liners
for my baskets out of new fabrics...
Ok, that is my first project...

2nd project

Ok, I love this idea...for a  QUILT wrap..(18 inches by 70 inches)
out of scraps, but then again
I am too new of a quilter to have any scraps. lol
Last time someone asked me for some..
jodi @ Pleasant home...I ended up cutting
up some quilting material and sending it off to
the winner which was Millie...( that is when we
first connected) . Sew I won't be making this wrap
out of scraps ( I have a cup full) ..I may just try some nice jelly rolls
that I see very befitting...

#3 project, cause I know my family
will be craving these...
Sew I am going to make some of my
old fashioned donuts...
( This recipe was passed down by my Nanny,
we always made this for Christmas Eve)

 Ok, that is today's list...

Do you think you will be tackling any new projects?

Oh and yes how forgetful of me....

A giveaway...

Would you like a pair?
The cuffs are made with merino wool very soft and mohair,
the rest of the wrist warmer 100@ Merino wool...
not the itchy kind either...lol

Wrist Warmers, made by me, for you...
Be a FOLLOWER if you would like to be added
for the draw...all comments already left...I manually
put you in already...just saying lol

Hi Samm,

Yes, I am doing a giveaway on my Blog. It's my birthday on February 1 and I am making a quilt in miniature. It's called "Snowflakes", in celebration of winter. Other than that, I am just taking time to enjoy this most wonderful Christmas season.

Hugs,
Joyce

DONUTS! Oh, man, I miss donuts... any chance of sharing this secret recipe? I haven't had a donut in over 2 years due to food allergies... and I bet yours don't have any preservatives or thickeners in them....
Oh and I've got a quilted wrap on my to-do list, too! After I get this last sill present done (gee, I'm good at procrastinating!)

Have to google quilt wrap and see what I come up with. Have some "Northerners" who would love these next year!

Ooooh, great projects to be getting on with! I'm doing some journal covers as gifts, and a little inspirational wall hanging for the office :)

Are you giving instructions for the quilt wrap and the basket liners? Because I need both! Especially that quilt wrap - I'm always cold. I just told Jerry to build a fire so I could stand by it. :) The quilt wrap might be my make-next-week project if you can point me to a pattern! I don't need the recipe for the donuts - I think I better stick to my WW diet for a while or Christmas will be my downfall. blessings, marlene

My new projects include rug hooking, knitting and a revival of X-stitching. And then there is finishing all the projects I currently have going.

Those look like great projects. And the donuts just remind me of home. I'm going to miss out on my Mom's old fashion donuts this year, since I'm not going home for Christmas. I might just have to try and make them myself. I do have the recipe, but I also have a bit of a fear of deep frying. So, we will see. Maybe my Mother-in-law will come over and give me a hand. I know she would love them. And it would help me to have someone who cooks, there when I'm deep frying. I hope to do a few projects this week. But, I want to rest this week too. I just finished working my long week and need to relax a bit. Hugs Ariane

Ohh, I love homemade Donuts. Can I come over to your house??

If I lived a few miles closer, I would come over for some tea and donuts...yummy! After the holidays, I am sure I will have some new projects to work on...taking a bit of a break and helping my daughter go "green", she wants to make fabric gift bags...but guess what, she cannot sew! SEW guess who is making all these bags?

Beverly said...

Love the quilt wrap idea. I think I'll put that on my list, too. Other than that my main goal is just to make at least one Christmas item every month so next year I'm prepared (unlike this year). =)

Wonderful projects! I never know where to begin...I have so much I want to do!!! First to finish my gifts...the day after Christmas I'll be sewing for me!

Hello dear friend, well, new projects..nope not new, just same old "need to get dones" over here! I am busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest! so lets just suffice to say I won't be whipping up any home made from scratch donuts, but they sound, and look delicious! The quilted basket liners are so nice, I love those. I have three baskets that are lined, of course I didn't make them, but they look so good. And a quilt wrap! Thats something different, one my 21 year old daughter would enjoy..maybe I should put that on my list of things to do...I know you too are SO SO busy, and so I will close with this..You have been such a great friend to me this past year, you know how much I adore you. Merry Christmas to you, and David, and the kitties! xoxox Christel

It's so hard to believe you've only been quilting since June ... good grief! :) Love your projects ... really like the idea of the quilted wrap. I think I'd really like to make one of those for my mom ...18 x 70... I could probably come up with my own "pattern" for that in my own way :) My mom won't mind. How about "hand pockets" in the ends instead of foot pockets ;)

Can't wait to see your results!

Vroomans' Quilts said...

I don't think I could bring myself to cut up a quilt - no matter how old - to make basket liners. Love the quilted wrap and like Wendy's idea of the hand pockets on the end. A jelly roll or 2 would work - even mixed with a honey bun. I admire anyone who can bake, mean time, I'll support my local bakery. New projects - well I am doing 2 scrap mysteries - scraps - yes. I have two 20 gallon and one 30 gallon tub of scraps. Of course the mysteries won't dent them - so I am pulling strips big enough for a string block project and a half-log cabin project. Oh, and finished a little cross stitch of my Kittie which will be a pocket on a new tote to use for my guild meetings.

SEW glad you joined us quilters in June, then! I just used "scraps" for a whole lap quilt ordered by one of our store customers. Scraps are nice to have. Merry Christmas!

Looks like you have a wonderful start to your holiday break, there is nothing like knowing what you want to tackle. I have so many waiting my attention, that it is hard to focus sometimes. I want all three of those things! Maybe I will make them up too, what is one more project at this point? Can't wait to see your versions!!! Hugs, -Cori

OOOH, those wrist warmers would look so wonderful in one of my daughter's photography shoots. She's always looking for interesting items to use as props, etc...and those would be PURRfect!! I too have to finish Christmas gifts and then on to hand quilting my daughter's queen size quilt. #1 husband is putting together my new quilt frame so I can quilt and watch TV with him during the winter months. We love watching American Idol in Jan. and several other shows together. He fixes the Hot tea and I make sure we have a special treat each night. I love winter nights just for that reason...he and I spend lots of time together.
This may be a*different* Christmas for you this year but keep the *voice* from your first quilt in your heart this week. It is still whispering words of love and encouragement...Shhh you be very very quiet. Can you hear it still??

Love, Hugs, and warm blessings from Me to You

Oh, yes please, I'd love those adorable wrist warmers :-) Love that wrap quilt, my shoulders always get cold first. That would be perfect. Thanks for the great idea.

I have some lovely old, very worn quilts that would make great basket liners. I'm going to sort my old quilts and lable them in the week following Christmas and maybe there will be one that I could designate as a "Basket liner quilt"! :-) Love the wrist warmers. I could certainly put them to good use here in MN!

I love that quilt shawl! I run around the house with a polartech vest on when I feel chilled but when I sit on the couch watching tv and the hot flashes start it gets frustrating taking the vest off and putting it back on over and over...thinking the shawl would be wonderful and....I have lots of scraps!
